- How to access your email from the web?
- In addition to using an email client program (Outlook Express, etc...), you can access your email account over the web.
You can do this using any web browser, at any time, on any internet connection such as from work, school, the library,
etc.
Here's how to use webmail
- At the location or address field in your browser, type the following:
http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail/
(Note: Make sure you replace "yourdomain.com" with your own domain name.) - When prompted, type in your username and password and then hit the OK button.
Note: Your username is your full email address. (e.g., name@yourdomain.com)
The first time you login to the webmail program, you will be prompted to enter your full name, preferences, and a signature. After this, you should see a display showing a summary of your email messages. From this screen you can send, reply, forward, or delete; it acts as any other email program. You can also write new messages (click "Compose") and print your email. - At the location or address field in your browser, type the following:
search engines
- How do I get my site listed with the search engines?
- We recommend that you MANUALLY submit your website to the various search engines. This task isn't too tedious because
most of the smaller engines actually use a compilation of search results from the bigger engines.
In other words, you need to submit your site to the "big" search engines and then all the "little" engines will automatically see your site.
You should manually submit your site to:
http://www.google.ca/addurl.html
http://dmoz.org/add.html
Those are the two major engines right now on the internet, and being listed in them will result in your site showing up in 99% of the other engines.
You can also hire someone to submit your website and also work on your website content (called optimization), You should always be careful of anyone who "guarantees" your website will be listed in the engines or other similar claims. The search engines don't ever reveal the actual methods they use to rank and list web pages.
That being said, we do offer search engine optimization and listing services if you're interested. You should send an email to sales@impossiblewebdesign.com and someone will help you out.

website security
- what is SSL?
- SSL (Secure Socket Layer) provide a means for submitting encrypted data via the web. SSL works based upon a public key / certificate system. As data is transmitted it is encrypted into 40 bit encryption and the web server then decrypts the data once it is transmitted. In the rare occasion that the data was stolen during the transmission process the only data that they would be would be encrypted which means that viewing it would show nothing but letters, numbers, and symbols randomly mixed.
