Field House Brewing opened in 2016, with Josh Vanderheide behind its establishment. Josh initially learned the ins and outs of brewing craft beers through his various clients in advertising and design.
He maintains too that his profession as a designer has a lot in common with beer making. Authenticity, creativity, and ingenuity are elements driving both, he says.
Field House Brewing thus offers a deft combination of well-established core beers and seasonal, limited-run brews. This craft brewer boasts four mainstays in its Abbotsford tasting room’s inventory. These popular choices include an Eastern IPA, a Dutch Pale Ale, a Salted Black Porter, and a Sour Wheat Gose.
Besides these core beers, Field House Brewing employs its brew master’s creativity and innovation in small-batch beer recipes. These much-awaited seasonal brews range from a berry-flavored dark beer to a Nordic IPA with notes of fruits and citrus.
This craft brewer sources most of its ingredients locally to highlight the freshness of its core and seasonal beers. This strategy works via its Field House Farm project. Under this setup, three local farms are under contract to grow the brewery’s ingredients.
The patrons of Field House Brewing can also enjoy servings from its Canteen Kitchen specializing in comfort food. The kitchen’s ingredients are always fresh, likewise sourced locally including produce from this craft brewer’s Field House Farms.
Its wonderful combination of delicious dishes and well-crafted beers has made Field House popular for community gatherings. During colder months, its patrons enjoy drinks at the craft brewery’s stylish tasting room with a fireplace.
In summer, Field House offers its 3,000-square-foot Beer Lawn for outdoor dining and beer drinking. An outdoor stage here hosts special events like live music performances by local artists. Besides food and drinks, fresh produce are also on sale during the special events of this Abbotsford craft brewery.
